Had a fantastic time relaxing at the outdoor wooden tables overlooking the sheep pen, perfect for sunset drinks! The food portions were massive and just what we needed after a long day. Loved the cozy ambiance and the history. Great spot for a leisurely evening and I even had underfloor heating in my room!

missingWrote a review on 18 Septpub atmospherevalue breakfastconvenient wet roomdated decor
The pub atmosphere buzzed with life, adding a welcoming vibe to our stay. Breakfast hit the spot with locally-sourced ingredients, offering a solid value at just £7.50 for a full English. The room featured a convenient en suite wet room that made morning routines easier.
The adjoining door to the next room allowed for unwelcome noise from the TV, which could be annoying in the evenings. The decor throughout felt dated and the bathroom had lingering odors alongside some stains on the tiles. For a one-night stay, the facilities felt a tad cramped, with not much room to move around comfortably. There were also reports of inconsistent cleanliness, especially in nooks like the bathroom corners where dust hung out too long for anyone's comfort. Lastly, there were issues with the mattress comfort, making it hard to get a decent night's sleep.

The welcoming staff made our stay seamless, noting our requests perfectly and ensuring a spotless room that was also very comfortable. Dinner was a highlight, featuring some of the best fish and chips we've ever had, alongside generous portions. Conveniently located for a wedding nearby, it made the experience even more enjoyable, although it would have been nice to have a larger variety of breakfast options.

Had a lovely stay! The host was super friendly and really cared about our visit. Breakfast was fab, a proper cooked meal that hit the spot. Everything was spotless, which was a nice surprise. Only wish the bar area had more seating, it got a bit cramped. a solid place to chill and enjoy.
